Vice-Principal (second position)
The Academy seeks a qualified, experienced and dedicated person to fill the position of Vice-Principal and be a strong support for the Principal to achieve the goals, priorities, and expectations of the Board of Trustees.
Major Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for overlooking implementation of the junior high and high school program.
- Serves as an academic counselor for the high school students.
- Assist the Principal to plan, manage, and supervise the school's operations and instructional programs.
- Assist the Principal in the planning and implementation of the school strategic plan and three-year goals.
- Along with the principal, organize the school personnel and educational resources to meet the learning needs of students.
- Assist in the supervision and evaluation of the teachers and the support staff.
- Support implementation of the academy's vision, mission and goals.
- Support teachers in classroom management, discipline, safety, and curriculum.
- Ensure the safety and maintenance of the school's facility.
- Organize, supervise and evaluate extra-curricula activities.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Education; Masters preferred in Educational Administration, Leadership or Curriculum, from an accredited educational institution in North America.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in secondary.
- Minimum 3 years of administrative/leadership experience in a North American Islamic School preferred.

- Must be familiar with junior high and high school programs in Alberta
- An understanding of and commitment to collaborative leadership.
- Effective conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to delegate responsibility effectively.
- Ability to provide clear directions and expectations.
Good knowledge of Islam and its educational philosophy.
