The undefeated EIA junior Legends boys faced off against the undefeated Killarney Kodiaks in a battle of the titans.  Our Legends were leading by 12 points in the 3rd quarter.  The Kodiaks overcame the deficit soon afterwards and clawed back into it, eventually taking a commanding 9 point lead midway through the 4th quarter.  That’s when heart and grit kicked in.  The Legends regrouped and played a dominant half court press, which resulted in 8 unanswered points in a span of 2 minutes. From there, it was back and forth action. Muneer Nazir made the best of 2 free throw shots in the final minute to give the Legends a 1 point lead which they were able to hang on to, despite some ferocious pushback by the Kodiaks.  The final score was 47-46 for your EIA Legends.  This means that we have clinched 1st place amongst Edmonton Public School’s division 2 league and all playoff games will be held on home court.  Please come out on Tuesday and Wednesday to support your EIA Legends as they look to reclaim the city championship.
