This is the Academy’s first annual Arabic Spelling Bee competition. Students from Grades 2 to 9 competed in front of three judges and with the presence of their classmates and parents. The competition aimed to: 1) help students enrich their Arabic vocabulary; 2) Promote the Arabic language among all members of the school community; 3) Help students enhance their self-esteem, confidence and interpersonal skills. The competition was held in writing, contrary to the traditional way of orally spelling the words. All participating students received special certificates whereas the first, second, and third place winners received trophies.
